Dan Read

Pastor

dan.read@arumc.org

Pastor Dan started his ministry at Salem UMC on July 1, 2023 and came to us most recently from Sugar Hill UMC in Texarkana and First UMC Lewisville. His wife Reverend Corey Read is also a United Methodist pastor and is serving Oak Forest UMC and Western Hills UMC in Little Rock. They have one daughter Alyce who is five years old.

Pastor Dan is originally from Kansas City and loves BBQ, Chiefs Football, hunting and fishing. Pastor Corey is from Jacksonville Arkansas. They met while attending Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina.

Three things Pastor Dan values about pastoral ministry in The United Methodist Church are: 1) the way we work together to support one another especially among his clergy colleagues, 2) the diversity of thinking within our congregations and our focus on theological education, and 3) the rich relationships that are built in our churches and creating church families united in the Spirit.
