We want to welcome you to Salem UMC Kids page! We strive to grow kids in FELLOWSHIP, RELATIONSHIPS, and TRANSFORMATION. Our program is lead by Lori Canada. As a life-long Methodist and former teacher, she has a passion to sharing Christ with our youth. Her email is lori@sumcb.org for any questions that you may have about activities or safety. All of our children's volunteers go through the ARUMC Safe Gatherings certification. This gives our volunteers training to handle situations along with background and child maltreatment checks. Your child's safety is our utmost concern.
The ARUMC is offering a one of a kind workshop for Volunteers, Parents, and leaders of Children's and Youth ministry. Come join for fellowship and learning opportunities for our ministry. This will happen on Feb 6-7 at FUMC Conway.

We set up in the parking lot for the last Sunday in October to allow families a free and safe experience to bring their children for some fun. Free food, games, and this year Hobo Joes was a great hit! Mark your calendars for October 25, 2026 from 5-7 pm!
During the summer Salem UMC sponsors a kids camp for 3 evenings as their Vacation Bible School. Last year we dove deep with our Scuba theme and learned about Christ and his love for us. This year we are traveling to the True North to learn how our faith points us to Jesus. Save the date for July 28 - 30, 2026!
Salem Camp Meeting is a historical event that has been happening on our church grounds for 158 years. Activities for kids, youth, and adults are available so that we can come together for worship and fellowship. This event happens each summer for a week under the historic Arbor.
Salem UMC offers a variety of activities for all families to engage in. We enjoy having the sounds of children in service, and on our campus. We keep a full schedule and invite anyone to come to our events. Be sure to follow us on facebook for any updated information.
Each week, we have opportunities for kids to grow in Christ at Salem UMC. Sunday School is held in the children's wing each Sunday from 10 am - 10:45 am and typically follows the liturgy of the Sunday sermon.
Nursery available for Sunday School hour with Ms. Lexi.
Pre-K class with Mrs. Stephanie.
K-2 class with Mrs. Kathy.
3rd - 5th graders meet with Mr. Don.
Each class works to develop a knowledge of the Bible and foundation of their faith. The nursery strives to show God's love for everyone. Our PreK class develops a love for one another and that we can show God's love to our friends and family. We also start the foundation for Bible learning in this class. Starting with our K-2 class, our kids learn what it is to serve others. This class also learns the books of the Bible and how to find scripture. Our 3-5 class develops a deeper understanding of what the Bible stories mean to our own lives. We also go deeper in the word and understanding of the stories we have been told.
Each month our United Women in Faith participate in a reading program and share inspirational stories with the kids during sunday school. There are great ways for intergenerational love happening in our congregation.
During the school year, Wednesday nights are full of food, fun, and worship time. We start in the fellowship hall at 6:00 for Spirit Supper. At 6:30, Mrs. Lori & volunteers take the kids over to the playground to run some energy out (weather permitting) and then have worship time in the children's wing with worship songs, devotional, and a game or demonstration that goes with the lesson.
