Welcome to Salem Kids Page!
We want to welcome you to Salem UMC Kids page! We strive to grow kids in FELLOWSHIP, RELATIONSHIPS, and TRANSFORMATION. Our program is lead by Lori Canada. As a life-long Methodist and former teacher, she has a passion to sharing Christ with our youth. Her email is lori@sumcb.org for any questions that you may have about activities or safety. All of our children's volunteers go through the ARUMC Safe Gatherings certification. This gives our volunteers training to handle situations along with background and child maltreatment checks. Your child's safety is our utmost concern.
Bible Bootcamp
This is a one day event for 3rd - 5th graders held by the Arkansas UMC Central District Children's directors. The date for this year is March 8, 2025. This will be a event held at the Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center. It is held on March 8. Salem Kids will be covering registration for our participants. We will depart from Salem UMC at 8:00 am and return by 3:30 pm.
This event is specifically developed for kids to dive into learning about the Bible and become more familiar with God's word. There are different rotations that the kids will be going through. Students will participate in activities such as Bible Scavenger hunt, Food of the Bible, Archery, and more!
We will be participating in a mission project where we are partnering with White Memorial UMC of Little Rock to provide books and a love offering for their Bus Stop Ministry that serves 200 students twice a week with a snack and a free book to increase literacy skills in their community.

Book Drives
We have two upcoming opportunities to donate your gently used books for great missions in the Arkansas UMC Conference. EPIC Youth will be taking books for the Project Transformation ministry to Veritas. The Salem Kids will be taking books to Bible Bootcamp to support a Little Rock ministry with White Memorial UMC.
This is a great time to drop off some of those books your child may have grown out of!

Kids Worship & Activities
Sunday School
Each week, we have opportunities for kids to grow in Christ at Salem UMC. Sunday School is held in the children's wing each Sunday from 10 am - 10:45 am and typically follows the liturgy of the Sunday sermon.
Nursery available for Sunday School hour with Mrs. Catherine.
Pre-K class with Mrs. Carol (Ne Ne).
K-2 class with Mrs. Kathy & Ms. Marian.
3rd - 5th graders meet with Mrs. Denise.
Wacky Wednesday
During the school year, Wednesday nights are full of food, fun, and worship time. We start in the fellowship hall at 6:00 for Spirit Supper. At 6:30, Mrs. Lori & volunteers take the kids over to the playground to run some energy out (weather permitting) and then have worship time in the children's wing with worship songs, devotional, and a game or demonstration that goes with the lesson.
