EPIC Youth
Welcome to EPIC Youth!
Welcome to our EPIC Youth page, where we strive to equip our next generation to follow Christ! We offer a variety of activities to grow and deepen the relationship with each other and with Christ. Our group is lead by a great group of youth volunteers . If you have any questions, feel free to contact Lori Canada at Lori@SUMCB.org.
Veritas 2025
We are excited to be taking a group of our youth to Veritas again this year. This year’s Veritas theme is ‘Ardor’. Ardor, simply put, means enthusiasm, fire, and being passionate about something. During the weekend we will take a deeper dive into different Biblical stories and the ways which someone can experience Ardor in their life! In addition to worship, there are a variety of breakout sessions for students to choose from, plus a game room, and Saturday night options for more fun.
Dates will be Feb. 21-23 at the Fort Smith Convention Center. EPIC Youth will meet at the Salem UMC parking to ride the church van to Fort Smith Friday afternoon. We will return to the church Sunday afternoon. A more detailed schedule will be provided soon. We will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriott, directly across from the convention center.
We are asking families to pay $70/youth member to cover a portion of costs of the registration and lodging fees. Youth members will need to bring enough money for 2 quick-service meals for Friday evening and Sunday lunch. These will be stops on the road as we are traveling.
Please fill out the registration form by January 31 so Mrs. Lori can get all registration and details finalized.
Sock Drive for Stone Soup
During these cold months, our unhoused population has a difficulty finding warmth. One way our families help out is to provide NEW socks to distribute at the Stone Soup meal held at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church. Bring your donations to the church by February 2 so we can send the sock collection with the group serving that day.
